Sam French

A founding director of Development Pictures in Kabul, Afghanistan, Sam French is an award-winning filmmaker with over 14 years experience in film and television.

A graduate of the prestigious USC film school, he has written, produced, and directed numerous short films, music videos, commercials, and documentaries before moving to Afghanistan. His 2006 short film Over the Line was honored with multiple awards, including Best Director and Best Actor at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, and was chosen as one of the top films of the year at USC's First Look Festival. His freelance commercial work has won him notable acclaim in the Asian market, and his direction of a ground-breaking music video for pop icon Wang Leehom catapulted the artist's album to #1 in the Asian charts.

Sam has spent the last two years in Kabul, where he co-founded Development Pictures (www.developmentpictures.com), a production company which produces documentaries and news packages. His work has been aired on Channel 4 News, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, PBS, and Current TV, among others.
